I'm just curious -- how many miles should a Savage
go before needing major repairs, such as a rebuilt
motor or transmission. I have friends with bikes that
have 50K miles and are still going strong. Does
anyone have a high mileage Savage that hasn't had
major surgery?
To what do you attribute this longevity? Doing your
own service, not doing your own service, changing
the oil more often than the manual recommends,
durable design, just plain luck, anything else?
Mine has a whopping 5200 miles on it.
